Prisoners entitled to IVF.

Or

This was a debate on my local news show this morning.

A prisoner is/was TTC with his girlfriend before being jailed and is trying to get approved for IVF so they can have a child. This man is serving a 31 year sentence for murdering a mother of two.

If he gets approved, this will be paid for by the NHS.

Some believe it’s his human right to become a father, and his girlfriend shouldn’t be punished for his criminality.

Others argue that it’s a slap in the face for law abiding citizens waiting for IVF on the NHS as prisoners would “jump the queue”. And that IVF is not a human right, but a choice.

Poll question:

Should people who are currently in prison be granted access to IVF/fertility treatment?
