At 6-7 months we did 1 time, 8-9 months we did 2, and starting at 10 months we did 3. Now she’s 11 months old and she also gets a snack. 
You have all the way until a year old before they need 3 meals a day. It’s best to introduce food slowly to give their stomachs time to adjust and make sure they are still getting enough breastmilk or formula.
