2nd birthday party??

Ladies. I’m due at the end of May with my second daughter. My oldest will turn two the 2nd of July. We went all out (as most parents do) for her first birthday party. This year with having a newborn, I’m thinking of skipping the party and just having family over the evening of her birthday for dinner, cake and ice cream. Of course that day we’d take her out for day to the zoo or park etc. I know she won’t remember since she’ll only be 2 but mom guilt is real! Lol would you ladies also skip the party this year?

I went all out for my son’s first and realized what a waste of time and money it was and how he didn’t even care 😂💜 We’ve decided to not have any parties for him until he actually asks/wants one but will definitely still celebrate him by having a super fun day, cake, cookies, and traveling to somewhere fun to camp or hike or do whatever 🥰 So much more fun to spend money on experiences 😭💜

I was 7 mos pregnant for my sons 2nd bday. We had ice cream cake and a few presents with my siblings, but that’s it. Too giant and exhausted to do anything else!

I'm due a couple weeks before my daughter's 2nd birthday, so I'm definitely skipping the party this year. I've been given shit by some family members, but I have to have another C-section and I'm planning on tandem nursing both. Heck no we're not having a party and I'm excited to get out of planning it. My daughter will be just as happy doing something fun with us when I'm feeling up to it. Make your life easier, especially when things are going to be hard. 💕

My son will be turning 2 about a month after we bring home the newborn.  Don't have anything planned yet, but definitely not going all out.  Maybe having a few family members over and getting a cake. It will just be too much to worry about throwing something big like we did for the first one.

Our second is due early June and our first turns 2 mid-July. Since this new baby didn’t get a baby shower (our first got three 😮), I want to have a “Sip and See” party around 6 weeks old. That falls right with our older one’s birthday, however, and I’m definitely not doing two parties haha. So we are going to do a combined Sip and See / 2nd birthday party just to celebrate with everyone!
Your idea of celebrating with family and doing something special on the actual birthday is a sweet idea though! And certainly saves the hassle of planning a party while managing a toddler and newborn!

If planning a party will be to much with a newborn it is absolutely fine to skip and just do something special like you said! We took our 2 year old to the zoo for his birthday in January and he loved it!

That’s absolutely normal I threw my boy a first birthday party but then I never threw him a second one I just took him out to the zoo and had a cake at home and the rest of the family called down to see him. This year he turns 4 on Friday and I’m currently 35 weeks pregnant and struggling to even walk but we’re throwing him a party with his friends and family so he doesn’t feel left out specially when the new baby can come any time 😊 they’ll not even remember them unless there are photographic evidence
