my doctors (I probably can't do vaginal always BUT) said to try for a natural delivery that don't want the baby over 9lbs because my pelvis is "untested". as far as the normal schedule time for a c section the hospital I go to likes to do them at 38 weeks(but I've heard different gestation times from 38-40)...just because you schedule one doesn't mean you can't call and cancel should you want to and feel safe delivering vaginally... hope I understood you correctly and that helped...for specifics you'd have to contact your doctor's office though.
