My 1 1/2 year old daughter...

Here recently I've noticed that instead of talking she just grunts. I know she can though because she says mama Dada papaw papoo turtle even. But will not say juice or drink or bite or anything else little like that. She's having to have tubes in her ears. They recently have found that she already has some, very slight, like she can still hear almost perfectly, permanent hearing loss but nothing to major. She will have tubes. She also has a tongue tie, which I already knew about since breast feeding was AWFUL. I do not think her tongue tie affects her speech as my oldest daughter has it worse and she speaks very well. She does however have a lip tie that has actually caused her top front teeth to be gapped. As she's having the surgery for her ears I'm having them fix the lip tie because if she's anything like her mother I know she wouldnt want gapped teeth. They said the gap would be permanent if I left it alone and her permanent teeth came in. I am however curious if any other mom has had lip tie effect their speech or if your child in general just didn't speak till later on?

My oldest daughter started saying full sentences, asking questions way before turning 2 and started talking plainly right after one.
