Born early?

I am a only child and my mom had me two weeks early, I’m pregnant with my first child and wondering if there is a higher chance I’ll have him early since my mom had me early.

My mom had both of her kids early. Both of mine were late.

Yes the chance is a little higher as this is the only part of pregnancy that is hereditary (don’t compare your pregnancy to your mothers in any other way) BUT it doesn’t mean you will be early, nobody can say when you’ll go into labour, it’s just the chance is a little higher :) x

My mom delivered eight babies (seven pregnancies since I am a twin). My two pregnancies have been nothing like hers.
The only similarity is that her water never broke with any of her pregnancies. They always broke it at the hospital. My first was like that.

I was 3 weeks early, my daughter was 1. I don’t think they are related.

I don’t think genetics has anything to due with why we deliver early or go past our due date. That being said Some genetic factors can play into if we deliver early like me for example I’m a very tiny woman and because of that my first child had to be delivered early because she ran out of room to grow inside of me and they’re already anticipating for baby #2 to need to be taken early for the same reason.

There’s always a chance you’ll go early, but just because it’s a general chance. 
I was two weeks late. My daughter was a month early.

My mother had me 10 and a half weeks early and when I had my son he came at 38 weeks.
