Please take good care of yourself
Since my miscarriage on Saturday my husband and I have been distraught. I've not been eating well and have been incredibly distracted. I'm sure that sounds familiar.
My husband wanted to take me out of town for the night to try to get away from the house. I had more blood drawn yesterday morning before we left. I had eaten but not enough. I'm a nervous passenger during mountain drives so I told my DH that I wanted to drive.
I fainted while driving and we are lucky to be alive. If he hadn't been in the car to grab the wheel I know that I would have died. Our only damage was a flat tire and thankfully we had a spare. So, as the sun was setting I watched my amazing husband secure our escape from the middle of the Rocky Mountains. I was foolish to drive - I didn't feel well. We were trying to run from our problems and that didn't work.
I love our lost baby (Aydan) with all of my heart but I am now thankful to be alive.
Please remember that our bodies are going through a traumatic loss. It's too easy to forget how to take care of yourself during a time like this. I wanted to share my story with the hopes that more women can find the strength to return to some sort of normalcy without such an endeavor. My heart aches for each and every one of you.
