When did you start going out with your newborn?

I have a toddler and a newborn and I feel like I’m gonna go insane staying inside lol it’s impossible. My hubby goes back to work next week and I’m gonna be so lonely lol I wanna get out of the house. My doctor said I should wait until after the first round of shots at least but that’s like almost two and a half weeks lol

My daughter is 9 weeks today and I still haven’t taken her in any stores. She just got her first round of shots on Wednesday and goes to daycare starting next Wednesday, so I’ll probably take her to store if I need to now. I prefer to stay home with her tho bc she’s colicky and i don’t want her having a meltdown when we are out.

I’ve been taking my daughter out to eat (in non crowded restaurants) and on walks weather permitting since she was 9 days old. Her pediatrician just said to avoid crowded places with poor air circulation like malls and not to let people touch or breathe on her. We did take her to Whole Foods today but thankfully no one got close to her - we live across the river from the county in NY that has the measles outbreak so I’m paranoid but there’s no way we can stay inside until she gets her MMR at 6 months (she’s only 6 weeks right now)

Mine didn’t get his first round of shots till 2 months. No way I could keep him in that long! Or myself. Just keep the kiddo away from other people. They’ll be fine.

With my first we stopped at the store on the way gone from her first check up appointment. I just made sure no one touched her and she stayed in her bucket seat and covered with a car seat cover.

Mine was a few days old bc I have a son in school so I couldn't hibernate. But think it helped me from going crazy

The day we came home from the hospital we went to a restaurant. My daughter just stayed in her car seat and I made sure nobody touched her.

My pediatrician said there’s no “best time,” just don’t let anyone sneeze on the baby and use common sense. My son was born at the end of January and we went out a lot and just put his car seat cover down when we went in places
