Rock n Play worse than crib bumpers for safety

I just want to point out that the new report about rock n plays and infant deaths leading to a recall of rock n plays shows that rock n plays are MORE dangerous for baby than crib bumpers, which many parents willingly avoid using. L

From 2011-2018, 32 infants tragically died due to rock n play associated use according to the latest report. From 2006-2012, 23 infants died from crib bumper use and that was a significant uptick from prior 7 year periods of crib bumpers causing 8 deaths.

So many moms on here are very anti-crib bumper for good reason!! Consider then that it’s hard to justify rock n play use because accidents happen. We didn’t know this before, but now we know....as hard as it is we all have to ask ourselves if the rock n play is really worth the risk even if we think we can use it safely.

*note: rock n plays and crib bumpers obviously don’t serve the same purpose, but both are related to sleep and both are not necessary baby items. Crib bumpers tend to be less controversial (meaning more parents seem to be willing to accept that they should be avoided) so my point is let’s not be hypocritical about rock n plays then, given the data.
