Baby shower for myself?

I’m pregnant with my first baby. No one has offered to throw me a baby shower. Is it tacky if I host one myself

Not at all, if we decided to have a baby shower we would have thrown one ourselves as well.

My husband and I want to do a big one with all our family.  My mom said she didn’t want to plan it so we are doing it ourselves. I never even thought that it would be tacky..

Have your husband ask your mom/sister/aunts/girlfriends or whoever if they are throwing you one. My mom/sis didn’t throw me a bridal shower bc my mom was being bitter and nasty and my sis is pretty thoughtless. Anyways, he asked them if they were throwing my baby shower bc if not, my gfs were going to. That got their butts in gear and they threw me a wonderful shower.

People do it all the time! I was in the same boat so I actually talked to my mom about it, which got the ball rolling. She and my sister are doing most of the planning, but we’re hosting at my house (it’s a coed backyard bbq, and my house is located in the middle of everyone invited). Do whatever feels right to you and don’t get too caught up in the etiquette or ‘shoulds’!
