Group b strep?

My last pregnancy I tested negative for it but this pregnancy I tested positive...is that unusual? Also how does that work as far as labor goes?

No not unusual, it’s a fast growing bacteria so it could’ve  developed since then. All that happens is you get antibiotics through an IV at least 4 hours before you give birth. You can’t get treated before labor as the bacteria is so fast growing it can just come back.

I was negative with my first and have it now with my second.
They just give you antibiotics when you go into labor and you can’t wait to go to the hospital until your water breaks. You have to go sooner or you have to be there quickly after water breaking, I can’t truly remember specifics.

When you go into labor get to the hospital asap and they will give you IV antibiotics
