Does the baby have to take the father’s last name.

I’m not married (never been married) I’m 14 weeks pregnant and the father left me and is being a complete dick to me. I really don’t want my baby to take his last name because I really don’t want him in the baby’s life if this is how he’s going to be acting. Does he legally have a right to the baby taking his last name?
