29 weeks pregnant. Are period like cramps normal?

Question

They are coming and going. No tightening. Not severe. Was getting sharp pains in my belly yesterday but better today. 
My OBGYN is NO help. Her nurse just said basically if you notice a pattern with tightening go to l&d
I'm a first time mom idk whats normal, if this is braxton hicks, or if I should be worried about preterm labor. ??? 
I had this is the beginning of pregnancy but its concerning at the end.

This just happened to me last week. I called my OB and they had me come in to get checked because I also noticed a drop off in her movement. Everything ended up being fine with baby girl. My job is hard on my body and stressful so they told me to rest and put my feet up and to drink as much water as I could stand. A few hours later I felt back to normal.

I have been having period like cramping for a while now but then again I’m pregnant w twins and went into pre-term labor twice.... my best advice and it has REALLY helped me.... rest as much as u can and stay VERY hydrated. Like drinking a gallon of water a day. That’s what my doctor told me and my contractions have really slowed to just a handful a day 😊. Best of luck mama!

BH are usually just your belly tightening or getting really hard with no pain. Cramps are closer to contractions. If they continue go to L&D or try to see get an appt to see your OB today.
