Home health care with hypermesis gravidarium while on Medicaid
Has anybody been diagnosed with hypermesis and needed home health care while on Medicaid? If so did they cover your at home cost for you? This is my first pregnancy, I am currently 17 weeks and I was diagnosed with hypermesis at 7 weeks, things hasn’t let up since. The only thing that seems to help is reglan through a iv, although the first 30 minutes of it is hell (anxiety, feelings of loneliness, depression, wanting to die, etc) but it works, my stomach feels amazing afterwards. The reglan effect lasts for almost two days, which isn’t a lot but when your as sick as me anything will do! I’ve been to the ER almost 10 times since I’ve been pregnant. Another thing that seems to help is Zofran 4mg, but I have to take it every 4 hours instead of 6. Due to speculations and things about it my ob won’t prescribe it, therefore I have to go to the er and get 10 tablets at a time🙄 It’s such a hassle right now so I thought about home health care, do you need a referral in order to get the service? Or can I just call and tell them everything that is going on. My life has changed drastically in these 4 months, I went from being a full time employee and a part time student to a at home mother pretty fast due to this condition. I just want to be okay and wouldn’t mind sticking myself everyday in order to do so😭
