So I’m new to the ovulation testing but is it normal for the lines to be darker in the morning and VERY faint in the afternoon?? Helppp? Is it cause it’s diluted? Will I miss my peak if it’s diluted or will that no matter when the surge comes? Thanks!!

Make sure you are always holding your urine for 4-6 hours before testing and refrain from drinking too much fluid while holding. Also, totally normal for the darkness to fluctuate throughout the day and from day to day.

I get my best readings the second time I use the bathroom in the day, which is usually around noon.

With opk’s, never use FMU (unless instructed in the instructions). Choose two times between 10 AM and 8 PM that you can test at every day at the SAME two times (so you don’t miss your surge); and use a 4 hour pee hold each time (and do not drink a lot of water during the hold times). Once the test line is as dark as, or darker than, the control line - you have a positive. Once you get a positive, ovulation will occur within 12-36 hours; and the egg - once released - will be viable for 12-24 hours.
