When in your opinion is ok to tell your coworkers and boss that you are expecting?

I have my first scan at 8 weeks. Hoping that all goes well. When will it be ok to tell them?

I already told a few of mine! I’ll be telling everyone else after my first US on Tuesday

I won’t be telling my coworkers until at least between 10-12 weeks. However I have told a few close coworkers just because if I’m not feeling myself some days I just want them to know I’m okay and this is why.   Hopefully I can make it to 12 weeks w/o saying anything because I don’t want it to feel like I’m the pregnant woman who has been pregnant forever.

I had to tell mine right away because I work with highly assaultive teens. I guess it just depends on what kind of work you’re doing.

I’ve been debating the same question. I think if I start having morning sickness I will let them know then or after our first ultrasound which is scheduled at 9 weeks. I have a occasionally strenuous job though so I’m wondering if I should tell them sooner.

I’ve had some fantastic female managers while pregnant and I’ve told them pretty quickly.   My current manager I told when we were 5 weeks. She and I are really close and both struggle with thyroid issues and have lost a pregnancy.  I’ve told a few coworkers - they also have thyroid issues so its also part of my pregnancy with thyroid issues support network too.  There’s no wrong or right time.  My boss knew about my chemical pregnancy a few months ago and there’s some family that doesn’t even know about it.  It was good she knew why I was in such a funk for a while.  Think about the environment you work in and the relationship you have with your boss and go from there!

Depends what kind of industry you work in, I work with children In a nursery so I feel better to tell my manager as I wouldn't want to be doing heavy lifting and all the other lifting and handling comes with it. And then I wouldn't tell the co workers until the first scan x
