do any other moms who exclusively breastfeed feel the same?

I find it very hard to keep on schedule with certain things. I don't pump at all so if me and my fiance say made a reservation for brunch with family it would be very diffiucult to stay on schedule because I'm obviously feeding on demand. I don't mind it all but I feel that others dont understand how difficult it is for me and think I'm just being rude

I hate when everyone is trying to offer to watch the baby but they don’t understand she is breastfed and won’t take a bottle. I know they are trying to help but it gets annoying after awhile

Yup! Also just to add, my boyfriends sisters said breastfeeding after the age of one is child abuse🧐. they also thought breastmilk was disgusting and would be grossed out when my baby spit up on them (they are moms btw). Well, I breastfed my baby still 18 months so somebody better call CPS😂

I breastfed in demand and didn’t bottle feed. I had family who were upset that I didn’t bottle feed so they could keep her over night at 2 months old. Uhhh no. Pumping is hard and even if the baby gets a bottle you still have to pump at the same time or right before in order to keep up supply. It doesn’t “give you a break”. It makes it harder. Most people don’t understand that. I also took my baby everywhere I went and breastfed whenever she needed (I was comfortable breastfeeding in public but some people aren’t and that’s totally ok). It helped that the town I live in is kinda progressive for lack of a better word so it’s normal to see mommas breastfeeding everywhere. My hometown is not like that so I get lots of looks when I breastfed my 18 month old 😳🤣

Omg snap!!! I have every relative coming out of the woodwork asking me to give them a time they can call up. And I’m trying to explain that ‘breastfeeding on demand’ means that I could give them a time and then be off breastfeeding for the whole time they are here! It’s very frustrating having to explain to so many people and still be really polite and appreciative 😂

Our families have been pretty good about understanding thank god.  But our friends (who have children no less) seem to forget what it was like to have a newborn.  How does that even happen lol you went through all of this at least once yourself!

I just breastfeed whenever or wherever we are so I don’t really schedule around it. I’m not shy about nursing in front of people though. I use the two-shirt method so I don’t flash skin.

That’s so true! I find it very inconsiderate of people to expect me to have the same level of flexibility with a newborn.
