Do you let others do things for your child if you’re there?

Question

I don’t know maybe it’s just me but I only let me or my partner feed, or bath or change nappies for my daughter. The only time someone else would do it is if neither of us are their like if we are both at work otherwise it seems weird these are private things and I’m uncomfortable letting every person who is even remotely related to me or my partner do them. 
Are other people the same?

Hey, if they wanna help, more power to 'em! 😆 Typically myself or my husband will change diapers but if we are busy, my MIL or sister will. Same with baths. And our daughter pretty much grazes off everyone's plate so I dont see an issue with others feeding her. I'm a firm believer in 'it takes a villiage' and we have a pretty amazing village helping us so I don't mind when someone offers chips in.

I’d have no issues of my mom or my mother in law changing diapers or giving a bath to my child, and so long as they were on solids I’d have no problem with them feeding my child. I even have a few friends I wouldn’t have a problem helping either, especially since I’ve done the same for their babies. 
But everyone is different and has their own rules for their children, and as parents your rules should be respected.

We go to my mom's every Sunday for family dinner. She often offers to change, feed, take to the bathroom or bathe our children. My toddler will actually say "grandma help" and only go with Grandma to the bathroom. 
As far as other people, I think my aunts and cousins are fine too, if they offered and I was tied up. I wouldn't sit there and expect anyone to do it though.

my mom is basically ALWAYS over and she loves to get him up from nap and change him for me. I love the little break. I mean she birthed me so I'm cool if she changes my kid.

If they offer, sure! But I would say most of the time they don’t really offer to do those tasks other than feeding my daughter solids.
They love to play with her, take her fun places, and read to her. I deserve the break when it’s offered.

Their aunts, uncle, and grandparents do. Not all the time, but if they offer I always say “it’s okay, I can do it, you really don’t have to.” And if they insist, I let them. I think it builds a stronger bond with them too.

Currently pregnant with number two and I can barely stand the thought of changing dirty diapers or cooking most foods for my 18 month old; everything makes me so nauseated. I constantly ask my mom to help with lunch while my husband is at work and to change poop diapers. Luckily she lives close! She babysits for us tons too so I can get a workout in, have a date night, or see our friends... so she’s very, very familiar with our daughter. We’re very blessed in that regard! 
When not pregnant I don’t ask for nearly as much help, but still don’t turn down an offer to change a diaper or clean up my daughter after a meal.

I’d let them feed him but not change unless we weren’t there. I just feel like why should they have to do it when I’m the parent

I let my mom or dad do those things. I’ve let my brothers change diapers too. It’s not hard for me because I need a break. I wouldn’t probably let a ton of friends change him or feed him unless I wasn’t there. But I don’t have a problem with family helping. They wanna help and that’s a good way to let them sometimes.
