Rectovaginal fistula- how common?

I just learned that this is a thing and I really wanna know how common this is.

My understanding is this is more likely to happen in developing countries than developed countries.   Things like the baby getting stuck and prolonged labor increase the chances of this happening and we have ways to handle those situations in developed countries that aren’t readily available in developing countries.  I wouldn’t be too worried about it!

I have one- my baby was huge and the delivery was long.  Fourth degree tearing.  Despite everything I went through with my first I still want to have a vaginal delivery again in the future
