My cat will not leave my side

Lately my cat won’t leave my side, he’s always laying next to me or over my belly or resting his head on my belly. Normally he isn’t this clingy, Iv heard some woman say soon before they went into labor their cat or dog did this. Have any of you experienced your animals clinging to you right before you went into labor?

This is how he’s currently laying on me lol.
