Anyone find out they were pregnant right before they were about to lose insurance?

I'm freaking out. I turn 26 Thursday, just found out I'm pregnant. I'm also super high risk due to multiple other pregnancy loses. I literally just finished school and don't have a good job yet. My doctor is going to want to see me asap and I guess Medicaid can take like a month in a half and longer get to get. And I am PANICKING. 😭

Where I live if you're pregnant and file for Medicaid you automatically get it. You will have to wait a month to get the card but your OB office should be able to look it up and see you have it. Good luck! And lot of the time Medicaid will backdate. Just call and see what options you have.

I was able to get my Medicaid back dated so it covered my appointments before I had it.

In my state if you're pregnant they have to process it within ten days. And your office can look up online and make sure it's valid before your card comes.

Don’t worry about the lapse in insurance. Pregnancy will be an automatic qualifier. Let your doctor office know the app is pending and they should hold bills to send to insurance once you are approved.

Yes. I did not have insurance my whole pregnancy with my first. I went to a clinic and it cost between $30-60 per appointment and the birth/hospital stay cost $11,000. This was almost 3 years ago. Hopefully you will qualify for Medicaid. I didn’t.

With you being pregnant it should kick in right away, at least that’s what I’ve always heard
