Wait or Move On?

Long distance relationship. I'm 35; he's 49 Together 3 months when we agreed to be exclusive. I freaked and accused him of two-timing a few days later. He hasn't said a word in 19 days. Won't text nor answer the phone. He hasn't blocked me, so he's gotten everything I've sent him (10 texts, 1 email, 1 voicemail). We met online and he won't close our match either. He is that guy who withdraws when hurt. He's done it before, but not for close to 3 weeks. I'm hurting because of the silence. I thought I could walk away, but I fell in love with him and I'm stuck now. My best guy friend said to give him more time, he'll come around.

I don't know if he will, but my heart doesn't know how to let him go. What do you think?

He's a grown man. Grown men do not need 19+ days to "lick their wounds". Grown men know what they want and if he missed you, he would have responded by now. Or even if he was going to come back eventually, why would you want someone who is willing to disconnect from you and leave you hanging for so long? Don't you think that you deserve better? Why don't you start to look elsewhere? Maybe hang out with friends. Go out to dinners or a lounge. Have a glass of wine. Perhaps find other matches.

Just an update: after a few hours of crying and ice cream, I have closed the door on him. It was really hard. Especially because I was the one who caused the fight that resulted in the silence, even though I apologized. If he wants me back, he knows where to find me; but I'm not just letting him back in. We can't take it back; we can't undo any of it.

I work divorce court. Some of your posts are what I hear every day. They make us girls feel empowered and in control of ours lives, but I know it's not true. Throwing in the towel has its moments, but most times you have to fight for what you want. Every day I see couples who stopped fighting FOR each other and started fighting EACH OTHER. The worst part is their fight is strong because the same feelings are still there. They have just channeled them negatively. I don't want to be there myself.

Also, I'm not in a hurry. I'm 35, and I wasted my time 10 years ago. Now, I'm just living my life and seeing where the pieces fall. I want someone to share my life with; and, if babies come great, and, if not, I'll be disappointed but I won't die from it. Good luck to all of you, and thank you for taking the time.

My hubby and I started as a long distance relationship. Even when we were frustrated and angry with each other we would let the other person in. That's the only way to make that kind of relationship work. All you have is phone,text, email. He's shutting you out and it's been 3weeks? I'd say drop it and  keep your mind busy doing other things. He's too old to play games like a 20yr old. If he wants you, he knows how to find you. Let him come to you. It'll be hard to stay away or be tempted to call but it'll do you good and clear your head.

Oh hunnie I've totally been there. He is using silence to punish you. Just stop responding. He may love you but he is self centered and probably narssistic. I'm sorry you are going through it. Where is he from exactly?
