What did you still need after your baby shower?

Question

30 weeks pregnant. Have basically nothing besides crib and a dresser/changing table. 
My sister said you don't really need to get stuff til after your baby shower. But I'm a planner and its bothering me. Lol I'm having my baby shower a little late at 36 weeks. So what should I be buying? 
I was thinking newborn clothes but IDK! Lol I don't want to go over board for no reason my baby shower will be kind of big.

I needed basically everything still, my baby shower was a complete surprise and no one bought off my registry (even though they were given my registry😂) but i was expecting to pay for it all anyway

Everything lol. Nobody got anything off my registry except my grandpa who got us the travel system we wanted. All we got were some clothes and 1 box of diapers. I’m glad we bought everything early on, I had a feeling I wouldn’t be able to rely on the baby shower. We bought all the nursery stuff and about 95% of her clothes, started after 15 weeks.

Usually people go crazy buying clothes for a baby shower so that’s definitely best to wait on. It’s really hard to say too because if you put everything on your registry that you want there is a chance someone will buy it for you so you don’t want to buy it if someone else will. It really is best to wait until after because returning stuff is a pain. For us we really didn’t need much after. We needed another car seat base, more diapers/wipes which is a given because you’ll be using them for a while, some extra sheets, preemie clothing because my son was way smaller than we expected, and some more bottles/pacifiers. Besides that we basically got everything we needed at my baby shower and then some.

Oh you definitely need to buy before then lol.  I’m a planner too so I have pretty much everything I NEED so the shower will just be for fun stuff like clothes and toys.

Diapers, wipes, lotion, body wash. Those are things you can buy without having two of things.
