Makena shot?

Question

Has anyone had to have the makena shot during pregnancy? I had my first daughter at 34 weeks so the OB said they give this shot to help prevent another premie baby
I’ve heard they hurt like crazy.... it’s one shot per week until you’re in the 3rd trimester 
Would love to hear experiences with this

I’m getting them now and my arms.. but i don’t have no side affect they just burn !!

I did them with my daughter (2nd) because my son (my first) tried to come at 26 weeks. They kept him in with medication and he came at 29 weeks.
Anyway, with my daughter I started the shots at 16 weeks and she still came at 29 weeks. 😳 
But I have heard so many other successes stories with taking the shots. And women making it to due date. I guess my LO's just didn't want to cooperate. 
I was also taking them with this pregnancy up until 24-26 weeks and then stopped for personal reasons (that OB agreed with me on) 
For me, the shot was painful. But it was because it was the auto-injector in the back of the arm. The one I took in my thigh with my daughter didnt hurt like that. Just make sure to switch sides every week to help with pain and irritation. Its not intolerable. But it is slightly more painful than a "regular" injection. Because the medicine is so thick, like syrup. 
Sorry, hope I haven't scared you with my personal experience. 😅 Many others have had great success with this without any negative interactions or side effects. 
It is definitely worth it if it keeps baby in as long as possible. 🤗
