Dream meanings?

Does anyone believe dream meanings? My boyfriend and I are going through some rough times and I always have dreams that interpret something negative about it. I want to stay hopeful for us but these dream meanings are messing with me

I don’t think dreams necessarily mean anything, like you hear about people who go really deep into what particular things happening in dreams mean.... 
But I think if you’re worrying or stressed about anything, or whatever, it can throw up random things in dreams. 
Like I once dreamt my boyfriend turned up at my work and told me I had to leave because they were all secretly aliens 👾 
Means nothing, except maybe I was stressing about my new job 🤷‍♀️
