I had chlamydia at the age 18. There was a guy I was with basically since we were 12. From age 12–18, we had only not been together about a year and a half. He took my virginity at 16 and I thought everything was golden. At 18 (literally the day after my 18th) I went to the ER, I made him go with me, with vaginal discomfort. I assumed it was a yeast infection and that is what I was initially diagnosed with. 
About a week later my mom kept telling me I need to call the doctor because they keep calling her and they only call you “if there’s something wrong”. I finally called them and I was told I tested positive for chlamydia. I instantly felt enraged. I had trusted this person for so long and finally gave myself to him and that was how I was repaid. I was so angry at myself for letting that happen because there were so many signs I ignored. If you’re young and you think you love someone enough to give yourself to them, PLEASE be careful and don’t ignore the signs. 💯
