What are some ways God has spoken to you?

Question

When I became a Christian, I wanted so bad to hear from God but I felt I just couldn’t. I have taken steps to strengthen my relationship with God and I finally feel like he is putting thoughts in my head and desires in my heart. How do I know if this is God or me? How has God spoken to you and how do you know that it is Him? 
I’m new to Christianity. I would appreciate your inputs in this :)

I believe Gods always been guiding you. Your choice to become a Christian was not just your own doing. 😊 when I pray, I’m talking to God. Being able to wake up another morning and having been safe throughout the day... is all God. He’s definitely answered my prayers for all different types of situations, not always RIGHT then but in the right time for me. Understanding he has a plan and his guidance is reassuring. Congratulations on becoming a Christian! You will find a lot of comfort in faith. 🙏🏼

Ask him to confirm it some way. One time in high school my best friend and I got into some nasty drama over a boy. We went to a worship night at church and just sat separately and prayed. I flipped to a verse and felt like I wanted to share it with her. I did only to discover she was open to the same verse. We were like whaattt? Just then a band member spontaneously broke into singing the same verse. I wish I remember what one it was, but it was about unity and restoring broken relationship. We were pretty amazed to say the least, our friendship troubles were behind us after that. 
There was also the year I was having a hard time, and throughout the year probably 10 different complete strangers came up to me and said the exact same thing “I feel like God wants me to tell you the joy of the lord is your strength.” It got to the point I wasn’t even surprised, any time someone I didn’t know walked up to me I expected that’s what they were going to say. 
Gods pretty cool. He doesn’t speak to us all the same way, he knows how to meet you where you are if you wait on him.

I’ve heard God audibly and sometimes I’ll visions while sleeping. I know it’s God because when these things happen I’ll get overwhelmed with a calmness.

God speaks to me through dreams, and I put it into prayer to make sure it’s REALLY Him. I try to keep my personal life to myself, and bring it to Him through prayer. God KNOWS our heart.
