Advice for a soon to be SAHM?

Hi all! God is blessing us with a sweet little boy (FTM) in August and I will transition at that time from working full time to being a SAHM. Any advice on how to prepare? We’re as prepared financially as we can. Out of debt (except our home) and have a good savings, but any advice is appreciated!
One thing is for sure, I am SOOO excited to be at home raising my baby!

Staying home can be very isolating especially with little ones. Everyday feels the same and that can be really hard. I suggest you think of ways to get out of the house and find friends or a group to join. I love staying home but it does come with its own challenges!

Being a SAHM is wonderful! One key thing though; as wonderful as it is you will get tired, stressed, overwhelmed, angry, etc., it’s ok to ask someone to take them for a little, or a day your husbands off have an hour or two to yourself. You will never really be alone again, so take the chance when you can. 
It’s normal to feel like you’re doing poorly, the dishes are piled high in the sink, there’s Cheerios literally every, and your little one won’t stop crying. That is NOT your fault. Breathe. The dishes can wait, the Cheerios can wait. 
People will give you tons of unwanted advice on how they raise their kids etc., just remember to stick to that mommy instinct of yours and do what YOU feel is right. ♥️♥️♥️

Plan activities that you can do weekly. Make sure you get out of the house a couple of times per week and if you don’t have a hobby start looking at things you might enjoy doing while baby is sleeping or too small to move around. 
You may feel overwhelmed or even bored for the first few months but, it evens out and is a lot of fun to be home with our babies. ❤️

I think the ladies on here nailed it with the advice. I love being a SAHM and homemaker and couldn’t imagine it any other way. The only thing I would add, which may not be for you, but definitely helped balance me was to establish a routine that began and ended early. My children go to bed at 630PM and wake up at 630AM-7AM. This leaves my evenings free to be a wife, a friend, a volunteer (I started teaching Infant Care to moms with unplanned pregnancies once a week with our local pro-life pregnancy center). You will not be able to do this right away, but once you get acclimated and baby starts sleeping through the nice, I find it really helps.

I would definitely recommend finding a mommy group around your area because being FTM is really hard and you’ll need the emotional support from other moms. Also this is a way for you to get out of the house so that you won’t be stuck inside all day. It was hard for me the first year when I had my son because I didn’t have any mommy friends and all of my friends they don’t have kids. And now I have so many mom friends that I meet with regularly for a play date and life is so much better for me and for my little guy because he has friends to play with.
