Is it ever a good idea to get back with your ex?

This is what I’ve been wanting since we broke up in February and some how my prayers has been answered. My ex shows up at my house, kisses me and asks me to take him back. I cannot even begin to express how happy I was to see him. It almost felt I haven’t seen him in forever. He looked so happy to see me too, his face was flushed red☺️☺️. In that moment I didn’t doubt anything and I said yes. I still loved him. I couldn’t stop smiling tbh.

We went on a spontaneous date to lunch, ice cream, and the movies. As the day went on it all started to sync into my mind. I started to doubt and I could see the many problems that we would need to work through before we get to a good place with each other. So much has happened and changed in the few months we were apart. I started remembering how hurt I was. The realization got so heavy it was so discouraging, that maybe this was a bad idea. I know he felt it too. At the end of the day we sat together and talked, just being honest with each other with what was going on with our lives and in our minds. After it all we did decide to go through with staying together.

I know it’s not going to be easy, but I still have hope, you know. I hope for the best outcome.
