Plane ticket for a 2 1/2 year old?

So were gonna be flying when he’s 2 1/2 years old. I’ve googled and says that 2 and under don’t need a plane ticket. But I’m wondering since he’s technically OVER 2, will he need his own ticket ?

As soon as my daughters 2 birthday came around she needed her own seat.

I might be wrong but I think he’d need his own seat. 2 would only count if you flew on his birthday. Each airline is different too so I’d just google the rules for who you’re flying with. I know when I was doing research for flights if we flew there before his birthday no seat but if we flew home after his 2nd birthday we’d have to pay for a seat.

Yes. Even if your child turns two on the trip they would have to have a return ticket and if you don’t the airline will charge you.

They will absolutely make you pay for a ticket at the day of baby’s 2nd birthday, so be prepared. If you try to go w/o a ticket they’ll want a birth certificate to confirm age and if it’s the day of their 2nd b-day or after a ticket will need to be purchased.
