Why do I feel worse after starting Zoloft?

I just started Zoloft three days ago for postpartum anxiety and depression. I feel like my anxiety and depression has gotten so much worse since starting. Not to mention a pounding headache non stop throughout the day. I know it takes 4-6 weeks to start feeling the effects of the medication but I’m scared it won’t work fast enough and I will get worse and worse. What are your experiences with Zoloft?

You have to wait a few weeks for it to start working. Give it time and hang on through any side effects till then. But if the side effects become very bad thoughts or actions and your worried about your saftey or someone else's, don't suddenly stop taking but immediately book in with you GP

That’s completely normal. I had the same when I started a couple of months back. But, since I previously had been on other meds I knew it would pass and get better. Just hang in there and wait for the meds to do their thing.

I was on Lexapro pre pregnancy and then Zoloft post. It works really well for me without any side effects that I have ever noticed. I would give it a few more days, when your breast feeding (if you are) there’s only so much you can take 😕

It can do that. Magnesium helps it work faster and will help alleviate the headaches a little.

Zoloft did nothing for me. Not all meds are for everyone tell your doctor and maybe they will switch you.
