Baby shower for 4th baby? Read description

I’m pregnant with my 4th baby. I have 3 boys and this is my first GIRL! 💕🎀🌈 My family is insisting on throwing a baby shower. I’ve always been taught you only have a shower for your first baby, not a shower for each gender (that’s their argument) I feel like people will not even show up because this is my FOURTH. 👶🏻💕

My cousin is pregnant with her 9th shes had a baby shower for all of them.
Personally, its tacky imo and I will probably just buy an outfit and a card 🤷🏼‍♀️ since it's only your second with a different sex I'd guess it's fine.

Ill never understand the issues people take with shit like this. Maybe its cultural. Ive never know anyone who didnt have a shower for every one of their children, and ive never hesrd of anyone thinking it was tacky or whatever literally until i got this app.

Most people I know do one for the first of each gender.  So I see nothing wrong with it, you probably don’t have any girl stuff so why not?  Personally I don’t know if I would though, I have 2 girls and am pregnant with my 3rd, it’s to early to know the gender yet.  If it’s a boy and I was stretched for money maybe I would want one, but I can easily buy my own clothes and what not so I probably wouldn’t.  I don’t think I would do it as a celebration either because I didn’t do one for my second girl, so that wouldn’t seem fair now.  If you want to do it then you should, I would go to a shower for a different gender and have many times before.

I would have it but I would make it clear that it was mainly a celebration for everyone to have fun and that IF they wanted to contribute something for baby they could. I go to all my cousins kids birthdays and bring them junk. Not really sure why it is any different if they have multiple kids to a baby shower for your 4th kid, especially since you wouldn't be asking for big stuff because that hands down.

If it’s a sprinkle or a get together where gifts are not expected, then there’s nothing wrong with that. But a baby shower after the first baby, unless there’s a big age gap, is looked at as greedy and gift grabby. Traditionally, a shower means there’s a registry and the purpose of one is to shower the parents with gifts for just starting out on parenthood, more so than to celebrate life. You can’t expect people to buy you the things you need again and again every time you have a baby.
