Baby girl is sick

On 5/5 at 12pm we were working on being discharged when they noticed a test had forgotten to be done for her oxygen levels, well they didn’t even get to do the test her levels were in the 80s. Baby in the womb rest at 60%-70%.

She got sent upstairs to be put on oxygen in the special care unit and get some labs done and an x Ray that showed possible fluid in the lungs.

Spinal fluid looked great.

Blood was drawn for tests and cultures to be done and we will hear about the cultures tonight 5/5 and more of the labs should have results this morning 5/6

Heart rate has been great.

Most of the labs done have come back looking perfect but an elevated c-protein showing the body is fighting infection was seen.

Her oxygen need was increasing and they started to feel it was no longer infection and possibly a heart/lung problem they started her on some medicine to help her heart, while we ran tests to see if that was our problem the echocardiogram shows she has a beautiful healthy heart. they took her off that medicine and at this point life flight was there she got taken to nicu at another hospital she is doing better sleeping and voiding her bladder.

Today 5/6 we get lab results and you get a day to rest with no tests.

5/6 was a great day baby slept and ate all day and momma got to hold baby 3x today.

And we breastfed 2x.

Finally got her to leave on the mask for light therapy for jaundice.

12 am

Brought in the milk delivery ( my supply is starting to catch back up) to say goodnight and I got to hold baby for an hour, breast feed change a diaper and grandma got to cuddle too

Well I’m back at 9 And my milk I pumped this morning doubled what I was getting yesterday.

Doing photo light therapy and nurse says we are almost done.
