Birth story 5/5/2019

Candace • Just made my rainbow 🌈 👶👼🏼

Time for me to tell some of my birth story, don’t worry won’t make it too long! I had my first baby girl on Cinco De Mayo day at 11:54 pm and I’m so glad it’s done and kept myself together. Yes, I am tooting my own horn because it’s a brave thing we do, but reminded myself the whole time that I was in good hands and need to suck it up. ——-Ok I went in Sunday at 1am (so very early) and it was bc I wasn’t thinned enough at doc apt so he had them stick a real tiny pill in there to help thin it out. Didn’t feel much until like 8 am and started feeling period cramps come and go. Then they just started feeling like bad period cramps where I had to keep saying suck it up suck it up to get my mind right with them. So the nurse comes in around 11am checks me I’m only at 2cm and was originally 1cm when I came in....:/ so I said when doc comes in I wanted to just see if I can leave and do it naturally if I’m progressing that slow, plus I was really tired from dealing with those and no sleep. So they called doctor and said I couldn’t leave until he checked me, he finally comes in and checks still the same but more thin, says we can have this baby tonight so I stayed bc he was letting me have epidural right after that so I can relax and rest up! Got that and it was great didn’t hurt much or anything, but around 3 hours before I had to push it starts to wear off on left side, so I started crying because contraction were a little more longer and I was tired, so they topped it off and it got me comfortable again (after basically begging cause they didn’t think I was needing anymore) , finally reached a 10 and pushed and finally got to see my baby! I was scared in my head to push thinking I would feel pain bc I was with epidural for a awhile before but even though it wasn’t as numb I felt nothing, but pressure when I pushed her head out still. I was blessed thankful for the staff and epidural my MOM, and I know God was making me strong to do this!
