Is it weird??

My husband and I are going on a small 4 day vacation soon. We have a close mutual friend that we adore so we invited her to come along. To save money we are sharing a hotel room. We have 2 queen beds though. She comes over to our house all the time. 
My mom keeps telling how weird she thinks it is that we are taking a “third wheel” on or vacation. I honestly don’t see anything wrong with it. Is it weird?

Personally I wouldn’t want to invite a friend on a vacation with my husband. Unless there is threesome opportunity that you want I also think sharing a room is really weird. I really don’t mean for this to be offensive at all I have no say in how you handle your relationship

We do this with our mutual friends. I don't really see the big deal but we practically grew up together so maybe that's the difference. We decide as a group if we want to split a room or get separate rooms. Depends on the trip.
