Skin peeling at the breast

I’m exclusively pumping my 7 week old son. We’ve never been able to successfully latch as I just found out he has a tongue and lip tie. He just had the tongue tie revision done this past Monday so we are working on his exercises, healing. Anyway, I’ve noticed that no matter how often I put coconut oil my skin on my breast is very dry and has started peeling. At first it was only my left breast after I had gotten mastitis. Now I’m seeing the peeling on both breasts. Why is this happening? Anyone experience this?
