Lip tie?

My daughter is 6 weeks old. She breastfeeds perfectly fine (with a shield due to flat nipples), and is gaining more weight than she should. Ha. She used to take a bottle once a day for daddy, but started refusing a week ago. I noticed she might have a lip tie, and thought this could be why. She also refuses a pacifier and always has. 
The doctor said not to worry about it, and that he thinks her bottle refusal is behavioral. 
My friend works at an ENT office and said it might be worth getting clipped, as it can cause speech delay and issues eating solids in the future possibly. My SO does not want to explore getting it fixed, since the doctor gave the all clear. 
Anyone have experience with this? I don’t want to cause her future issues.

My daughter is 6w and finally get her tongue and lip revised on Monday. She can only lift her tongue up slightly on the sides and not at all in the middle results in tons of air Filipino and tons of gas pain. Her speech therapist said she wouldn’t be able to eat solid foods without choking with every bite, it would effect how her two front teeth come in and would most likely
Have a speech impediment. Hers is being done with a laser. 
I would look for a pediatric speech therapist, my pedi blew off her toes, so did the pedi at her newborn clinic and the speech therapist in the NICU blew it off too.  It’s progressively gotten worse as she’s gotten older. 
I was told very few people are actually trained in looking for ties, most of the time they only check the outward motion but not the upward!

My baby had his tongue and lip ties revised yesterday. He will be 3 weeks tomorrow. They used a laser because his was too severe to just clip. It would require sutures. His pediatrician felt that he might have one but wasn't entirely sure. I took him to a lactation consultant, she confirmed lip tie and also stated he had a tongue tie. Then I took him to a dentist that specializes in breastfeeding dentistry. She agreed that he had both ties. She was more worried about the tongue than the lip as far as breastfeeding goes because he could not use his tongue properly to fully drain the breast. I would read up more on it, we had several symptoms pointing towards ties. I would see if you have any of the symptoms listed and go from there. I don't think it would hurt to get a second opinion. Here's my little man right before his procedure-

Good luck, hope you can get it figured out! If you are having problems, don't let it go on. I did with my last baby. Had nipple pain for 13 months. Knowing what I know now and that ties are genetically linked, I know he has a tie and also going to get him evaluated!

My son had a lip and tongue tie and I had them cut it at 9 months because someone FINALLY listened to me when I said something wasn’t right.

This is what it looked like before. Lip and tongue ties can cause a variety of issues when they get older. 
He couldn’t flare his lip or move his tongue until he had the procedure.

My niece is 15 months and we just found out she has one. They will only clip it if there is an issue. My niece eats and talks fine no issues with it at all.
