Doc doesn’t believe in sweeps!

My due date is this Sunday the 12th. I had my appointment today and have been experiencing mild contractions on and off from last night, especially when I walk. I’m 3cm today but she said I was still thick. She said she would like to start nst on Monday and Thursday and induction at 41.3 if I don’t go on my own but she feels that since I increased 2 cm in a week and already have some contractions she doesn’t think I will make it till then. I asked about a sweep to move things along. We live in Manhattan and will be delivering at mount Sinai and she said that they really don’t believe or so sweeps because they feel like it’s forcing the body to release hormones they are not ready to and usually ends up in longer labour , pitocin for contractions and often in c sections as well. So I was hoping for one but I guess I will just have to keep trying to walk this baby out till then. I’m really hoping this weekend I will go.
