Period?

Question

So I’m 4 weeks past since I’ve had my Mc..so I’ve been spotting for the last 2 weeks which is expected..what I’m curious about is when will I know my period has started? So I can actually start logging it and calculate when I ovulate again.

I had this same question because I had a miscarriage with d&c April 11 I bled for maybe a week and still waiting for my period it's been 4 weeks today since the d&c and still nothing. 
I've been told by other women that it can take up to 6-8 weeks. My doctor says I should start as usual per my next period but that came and went and I never started.
