Neither. With PCOS, you can get ovulation symptoms multiple times a month, including LH spikes. A blood test for progesterone can check for certain. It’s a pain. But what happens is your body gives the signal for ovulation but the egg doesn’t release. That’s why multiple cysts are so common. For me, after a few cycles of the blood work, I can tell when it’s real or not by how I feel. I usually feel really bloated that day and I can generally feel a twinge in one side or the other. It’s subtle so you have to be watching... but mixed with the other signs, I’ve been able to learn my body. It takes time. But you can ask for blood work to check your ovulation. I found it helpful.
