High percentile measurement at 20w scan?

Question

So I had my 20w scan today and baby is measuring 86% percentile, meaning he’s quite a bit bigger than average 🙈 (50% is average).
Does this mean he will be quite a high birth weight? Is there any correlation?
Just wondering as I was only 5lb myself and hubby was 7lb- so didn’t think I’d be expecting a big baba 😅
Also- he was only 37% at my 12w scan!?

My first son was in the 98% at his 20 week ultrasound! He was a large baby. But big baby’s are cute and chubby!

I asked specifically about this because my baby is in the 80th percentile— they said measuring big this early doesn’t correlate with birthweight. If anything, it just means they are healthy.

Just had my scan 2 days ago and I was informed that my baby is 70 percentile, which is actually huge if correlated to my BMI. On 20 weeks as well. Not really a cause of concern for now as advised by my OB. However I was advised to be watchful of my diet and weight (and baby weight) gain, since a huge baby is more hard to deliver. More prone for CS!

My son was in the 94th percentile at 20 weeks, so I had a growth sonogram scheduled for 36 weeks. I always measured 1-2 weeks behind, so I didn’t think anything of it. He ended up being in the 97th percentile at 36 weeks (& was approaching 8lbs), and because I’m petite and my OB wasn’t confident that he wouldn’t get stuck, I had a csection a week early. He was 8lbs 10 oz. I was 4lbs 11oz at birth, and my husband was 5lbs 🤷‍♀️

My little guy measured 97th % at 20 weeks!

My first son was in the 98th percentile when I was pregnant with him. He was 8lb 13oz and 23 1/4" long. He was huge. 
This one is in the 95th and Dr said he will be right in line with my other son. 🤦😑

I think it can change throughout pregnancy and baby might not be big at birth.
They can go through growth spurts so at one appointment seem big and then are back to normal at the next.
I wouldn't worry about it!

My baby girl was measuring 99th percentile at our anatomy scan. My husband's family all have huge babies (12 to 14 lbs). But from what I understand the baby's size is usually determined by the mother's side.
