Short term disability help !!!

So I just started my job December 10th so my short term disability policy was active 1/1 this year. Apparently there is a 3 month exclusion period that has to be met for "pre existing conditions" which pregnancy is considered. My work isn't sure if I will be covered or not and I have to get in touch with the company which I am doing. Has anyone dealt with this ?? I'm so stressed. I won't qualify for FMLA bc I haven't been here a year and I make more money than my husband so being off work for 6 weeks with no pay is really not possible for us.
