Rant.

My husband is now pissed at me because I made the comment that Mother’s Day has never been about me, but instead about his mother and grandmother, who get 98.5% of the attention for the day. A comment or two might be made in my general direction, but i don’t get flowers, cards, etc. Mom and grandma, on the other hand, get fawned over and treated like some kind of big deal.

I’ve never pretended to care, mostly because i just treat myself to what i want and ignore the fact that others are being lauded.

Nonetheless, call a spade a spade. I get completely ignored for most of the day, don’t you dare pretend it’s “my day”.

He got all self-righteous and huffy in response, but couldn’t say a single thing to back up his attitude.

Mind you, father’s day is a “big deal” in this house, because I’m not a useless wife. The kids know when father’s day is coming because we get off our asses and do things to make him feel special.
