I got yelled at

Im really sick rn and i called in sick to work. I’m kinda new to the job and only have a couple weeks in. I work at a hospital. No one ever told me who to call or when to call when I’m sick. So I call the department and I get transferred to the head nurse for the night, she keeps saying my name like speaking to a little kid, she said I was supposed to call 2 hours before and that this was very discouraging.. and she’s like I’m going to let the manager know what time you called. Like um ok..you gonna tell on me? Also no one ever explained the protocol to me and I wasn’t going to work with food poisoning. Now she made me feel shittier and my bf is also upset saying I should’ve toughened up. The staff is all gonna hate me now. What do I do.

Edit:

I worked at a library at my previous job and calling in didn’t matter at what time it was done.

Also I wasn’t given a contract. It was just paperwork for orientation and a paper with a mini description of the job and the pay. They also lied to me about shift hours when I was interviewed, they never said it was 12 hour shifts.

And there’s a lot of shit to learn especially cause I don’t have a background in anything medical that was the last thing on my mind to ask about.
