Are you washing all the baby’s clothes?

Are you washing all the baby clothes, blankets and sheets before baby comes? As a first time mom, 10 years ago, at 21 years old I didn’t do that! 🤦🏻‍♀️ is it really necessary? I’m now 31 and realized uhh did I mess up 10 years ago? Nothing happened to my son but just curious about it now!

I did. One less thing to do later when you have a newborn on your hands.

We definitely will our first daughter has really sensitive skin (can’t even use dreft) so we do it as a precaution in case the clothes came in contact with an irritant in the store

I've never wasted my time washing clean clothes.

Yes. Everything new is covered in chemicals to preserve the clothing. Thing of all the gross stuff it’s exposed to before you get it too. It’s pretty gross.

I never did with my four and won’t with this one never had a problem

I do it because they spray any fabrics with pesticides and fungicides before they ship them so they don’t mold or get infested with anything.  I won’t put that on myself much less a newborn.

I did with my first daughter just so I could organize her closet and everything was ready to use once she got home. I’ll be doing the same this time. It’s not dangerous if you don’t, i just like to so all the store germs will be washed away

Absolutely! I won’t even wear new clothes without washing them.

I wouldn’t except the things from my mom smell like cigarettes. So I’ll be washing.

I will be washing anything that is from any stores- they have chemicals and who knows what else on them. Anything I saved from My first is already clean though. I use the same detergent the rest of the family uses though. The baby detergents are a waste of money and full of unnecessary chemicals. And baby comes in contact with everything we wash with our normal soap.
