Is it normal for 3 month old to be eating only 5.5 oz of breastmilk?

She was drinking 8 oz last month but she would spit up alot after so I dont think she needed all of that but recently shes been drinking about 6.5 oz. I know they say the normal for 3 mo this is 4-6 oz but is there a reason shes varying so much on what shes eating? Is it normal for her to do this?

My 3 month old only does 4 ozs. That is good because breastfed babies need pace fed

5 oz is a lot for a breastfed baby to be eating at once. I would check into pace feeding. Like someone above stated breastfed babies don’t need to up their oz intake much since the breastmilk adapts to their needs.

Breastfed babies don’t increase their ounces the same way that formula fed babies do. My baby will be 4 months on the 15th and she takes 4oz of breastmilk when she takes a bottle. I thinking feeding more than 5 oz at a time is probably too much. BUT every baby is different. I would offer less and see how your baby does. My baby has never taken more than 5 oz without spitting up a ton afterward. She has been doing 4 oz for probably two months.
