When to tell your s/o you're pregnant

Debating on when to tell my s/o we're expecting again. I'm 6w4d and my ultrasound appointment is May 21. Is it wrong to want to wait that long to tell him? I'd like to surprise him with the ultrasound photos.

I told my husband the same day. This is our first and I definitely wanted him to be at the first ultrasound.

I waited until I had gotten my blood tests done and knew my hcg was doubling before I told my husband. Don’t think I could wait Till after an ultrasound but I get wanting to be sure first.

I told my SO immediately. This is our fourth pregnancy. With a loss at 8 weeks and 20 weeks, we just enjoy everyday.

I waited till easter (6w+4d) to tell my husband. I wanted to make easter special with the announcement. I had My appt with US at 7w.

I called my husband at work as soon as I got a positive test. He only had a few minutes, and I had a meeting I had to dial in for too, so it was a very quick call, but I can’t imagine not sharing with him right away. He came to our first ultrasound and will be at our second tomorrow. After the first midwife appointment he may or may not come to future ones, they’re not super interesting after the first one 😂 I might make sure he can come to any I have to get blood drawn in case I feel too woozy to drive after.

I personally don’t think waiting is a good idea. Speaking from personal experience which includes 4 miscarriages, a subchorionic hematoma, fainting spells, 2 d&cs and 2 septum removal surgeries, you literally have no idea what each day in pregnancy is going to bring. Unfortunately as much as we all want to have that magically movie reveal, life just doesn’t work that way. I learned this the hard way by waiting until 14 weeks and doing reveal Christmas crackers up for the whole family only to be scheduled in for a d&c the day before Christmas. I would tell him immediately because regardless of what happens, you’re going to need his support and someone to talk to.

I told him that evening, did a cute surprise. I def wouldn’t wait weeks... I’m pretty sure my husband would be upset if I did that, esp missing out on the ultrasound

I can't keep it a secret very long! IMO, it's his baby too, so he has a right to know. How do you think he'll react to knowing you kept it from him? My hubby couldn't even see the second line on the test that I could see clearly. He's been a part of this journey 100%, so why keep the result from him?
