Ready for another?

Question

Our baby is 3 weeks old and I want to start trying for another. I was just diagnosed with ppd and my OB is suggesting waiting at least 6 months but it took us so long and tons of fertility treatments in order to get our miracle. Am I crazy to want to do this again so soon? I want a big family, at least 4 kids. But we cannot afford IVF again and still owe $23,000 from this last round.

Pregnancy is so hard on your body. Give yourself some time to recover, like the doctor said. Your body is depleted of vitamins and minerals and your still recovering your blood loss. The wound from where your placenta was starts out at 8 inches diameter in size and it is not healed yet. I mean, that’s a big freaking wound, which is why you can bleed for so many weeks. 
Don’t make a major decision so soon, it really sounds like a fear based decision, not something your doing for the joy of it but rather because your worried. 
If it’s meant to happen in this life it will. No need to jump in now and put that stress to your body and to your you g family that needs you to be healthy physically and mentally and financially

So wanting to get pregnant so soon is actually a sign of ppd, that being said, if you had to do big the first time, go for it after6 weeks. It’s hard though having kids so close in age, but definitely worth it. 😊

You should ideally give yourself 18 months to recover but if you wannna try soon at least wait a year. Having little kids while pregnant is not as easy as people think. Enjoy the little you got

My fist two are 13 months apart and i wouldn’t have it any other way that being said my third is 18 months younger 
And three under three is a bit much but awesome at the same time. I’m not going to lie my second pregnancy was scary there are some risks with having them so close and I was planning on taking a break between the second and third but God had other plans for us do what feels right for you and your family

If you are breastfeeding I would hold off on trying so that it doesn’t become more frustrating. I got pregnant with my second when my first was 9 months old. We started trying after 3 months and I didn’t get pregnant until I night weaned my first. I also never had a period between the two kids.

We were planning it even before this pregnancy 🙃 our first is 9 (completely unplanned- I was only 19) so we waited till we were more financially stable, married, and I was done with graduate school before having our second. It took us awhile to achieve those things. We only want 3 kids and the last 2 we want to be closer in age to complete our family before we get too up there in age (I’m almost 29 and husband is 34). I also want to get back to working in in my career sooner using my new degree than waiting so many years since we prefer me to be a SAHM during the first year of each baby’s life. So the plan is having these last 2 under 2 years. We even have a name picked out for the third 😆 My pregnancies and labor/delivery were very easy so we feel ok to try again sooner.

I got pregnant again at 6 months postpartum and I really wish we would’ve had them 2 months closer. My son turned 16 months the day my daughter was born and it’s a tough age... (big changes happen every month after they turn one) it would’ve been an easier transition when he was a little but younger.
