Son won’t eat solid foods
I have fed my son food since he was six months and he did pretty well up until about 3 or 4 weeks ago. Around 7.5 months we transitioned from just purees to some foods cut in blw style. He did well with them. At 8 months I introduced finger foods for him to practice using his pincer grasp along with his purée since he doesn’t get a lot on his mouth on his own. He started refusing to let me spoon feed him. I then gave him his own bowl with spoon but nothing makes it in his mouth. The last week it has gotten worse where he seems to only play with finger foods and doesn’t put anything in his mouth. I now cut foods in blw style again to make it easier and give him options at each meal of a purée, finger food and a larger chunk cut for him to grip easier. I eventually try to spoon feed him after 15-20 minutes of him sitting and not eating and he will scream, cry and resist. He usually grabs the spoon and throws it. I stop at that point but I’m starting to worry that he isn’t eating at all. He nurses every 3 hours during the day but for maybe 5 minutes each session. Does anyone’s baby seem completely disinterested in food? It has been going on almost a month now. Some days are better than others but better meaning he may get 3 bites in at a meal. My son goes to his 9 month appointment this week so will bring up to the doctor but just wanted to hear if anyone else is dealing with this.
