Hello! New here. Checked into hospital this past Sunday and diagnosed with preeclampsia. They are inducing me at 34 weeks, which is in 2 days. I'm not overly worried but this is my first baby and now will be a preemie too. Any tips and tricks?

No tips or tricks but to say prayers all goes well and for a short nicu stay! I had mine at 35w and he had an almost 8 day stay and the hardest thing was leaving him and going home without a baby but the time flew by and he was home before I knew it! Hope the same for you💜

I had my girl at 32 weeks because of preeclampsia. She did fantastic in the NICU and was out in 3 weeks. Yours probably won’t need that long though! Be as involved as you can be with the care in the NICU. I felt so much more prepared because I asked the nurses to teach me and let me do as much as I was allowed to do while we were there. Make your presence known! When I wasn’t there, I called every few hours for updates. All of her nurses knew who I was and I knew all of them. I really think this made a difference in the level of care she was given. I was kind and friendly but would also speak up if something seemed off! Use your mommy gut! No one will know your baby better than you! Also, catch up on sleep while you can! I didn’t sleep as much as I should have and the first week home was EXHAUSTING! I’m sure you and your little one will do great!

Research the vitamin k shot, the eye ointment and the hepatitis vaccine. Make sure you know why you want before you deliver. I wasn’t informed as my baby came early unexpectedly so I did not get the chance to research those. Get a pump and be willing and able to pump right away to help your milk come in for little babe. I wish I had started that. And make sure and have baby checked for a tongue tie. My son had one and had it clipped so late it did not end up helping us breast feed.
